Field of application The Westermo SDW-500 family consists of 5
port unmanaged industrial ethernet switches designed to satisfy
industry’s demands for reliability and functionality in tough
environments with high levels of interference. They are approved
and supported for use in the North American, South American and
European Union markets, as well as in the other regions of the
world with a single unit.
The SDW-500 family is particularly well suited for use in
industrial plants and production facilities as well as outdoor
applications. With galvanic isolation, transient protection, LED
diagnostic information, a temperature range of -13OF to +185OF,
12-48 VDC dual redundant power requirements and single action
DIN rail mounting, they simplify industrial installations and
increases their flexibility.
With flexible combinations of copper (TX) and fiber (FX) 10/100
Mbit/s ports, the SDW-500 family of switches can be used as a
low cost ethernet to fiber optic converter. The ports are set up
for auto-negotiation of line speed and full/half duplex
connection; however DIP switches do allow each port to be
individually configured if necessary. All TX ports support
MDI/MDI-X which means there will never be a question about when
to use a standard or crossover patch cable. Each TX port is
individually isolated to help prevent earth loop problems within
the network. |
