| If
the maximum load capacity of the network has been
reached, and you still want to add more units,
or if the distance is longer than the maximum recommended
distance, you need to use a repeater. Westermoís
repeaters amplify and retransmit the original signal.
In this way, the network can be extended and reinforced
by adding new segments with full signal strength.
A signal can pass through up to a maximum of 8
repeaters (RA-/RD48) and retain its original quality
and performance. For RS-422 and RS-485, a maximum
of 1 200 metres and 32 nodes are allowed. With
a repeater, it is possible to add a new segment
of 1 200 m and 31 nodes. With an LA-01 line sharing
modem and a 10 mA current loop, your modems can
be connected at 18 km intervals. |
