The MX-69 is an eight port RS-232/V.24 multiplexer (TD and RD on each channel). All channels transmit over one
fiber optic channel. Maximum transmission rate on each channel is 38.4 kbit/s and each is completely independent which means they can be set for different data rates and word structure.
Fiber optic cable is completely immune to external interference, which makes it ideal for harsh industrial environments. Another reason may be the need for a high level of security as
fiber optic cable is very hard to tap. In order to use all 8 channels you will require 2 pairs of
fibers. |
