The Westermo D-units are available in MD-63 (point to point), LD-63 (multidrop) and LD-64 (redundant ring) versions. These devices have a 9-pin D-sub connector for connection to equipment with RS-485 interface. The D-units can be set up for different datarates / data formats to support a number of protocols using RS-485 interface with D-sub connector.The fibre cable is completely immune to external interference, which makes it ideal for harsh industrial environments.
The units can handle transmission rates up to 1.5 Mbit/s (MD-63 and LD-63) or 375 kbit/s (LD-64) and are available in both multi- and single mode versions.
