The MD-62H can be used for communication between equipment with RS-232/V.24 interfaces. The MD-62H is used as start and end point in multidrop networks with LD-63H. The H-version supports data and status signalling in a multidrop network.
Fibre optic cable is completely immune to external interference, which makes this unit ideal for harsh industrial environments. Another reason may be the need for a high level of security as fibre optic cable is very hard to tap.
The MD-62H handles data rates up to 115.2 kbit/s and is available in both multi- and single mode
fiber versions.
