The MD-52 can be used to provide galvanic isolation between equipment with RS-232/V.24 interfaces. One application could be to isolate a serial printer from a nearby PLC on the factory floor. Isolators are often used to solve problems like earth potential differences, transients or other noise.
The MD-52 isolates a total of eight signals in the RS-232/V.24 line, four in each direction, making the unit ideal for asynchronous systems. The maximum data rate of the MD-52 is 115.2 kbit/s.
