The LA-10 is used to create star networks with Westermo rack mounted products. The LA-10 allows the connection of up to 15 units cards. The system is very reliable and secure as all the channels are separated and therefore cannot disturb communication even if a channel becomes faulty.
The LA-10 can be connected directly to equipment with the RS-232/V.24 interface. If connection to another interface standard is required then one of Westermo’s converters could be used. Data rates up to 19.2 kbit/s are possible on each channel.
The LA-10 requires the connected units to be intelligent, i.e. recognise their own address as the LA-10 is completely transparent.
